El Ejido, 09 de septiembre de 2025.- El Pleno del Ayuntamiento de El Ejido ha dado hoy luz verde a la adjudicación de la contratación del suministro de electricidad y de los servicios energéticos para la instalación y explotación de varias instalaciones fotovoltaicas en espacios municipales, constituyendo para ello una comunidad energética de uso exclusivo municipal, a la empresa Cox Energía Comercializadora España SLU.
El alcalde, Francisco Góngora, ha destacado que “con esta decisión damos un nuevo salto en materia de sostenibilidad, avanzando hacia un municipio firmemente comprometido con el medio ambiente”, ya que como ha subrayado el primer edil “la mayoría de los edificios públicos funcionarán durante el día con una energía limpia, local y renovable”.

Cabe recordad que una comunidad energética es un proyecto colaborativo donde ciudadanos, pymes o autoridades locales participan en la producción, consumo, y almacenamiento, además de compartir y participar en la venta de energía, usualmente de fuentes renovables, con el fin principal de obtener beneficios medioambientales, sociales y económicos para sus miembros y su entorno.
El contrato tendrá una duración de 15 años y una vez finalizado el contrato las instalaciones pasarán a ser totalmente municipales a coste cero.
