Dos tripulantes de una embarcación del tipo 'go fast' han sido detenidos por la Guardia Civil de la Comandancia de Almería. La detención tuvo lugar en aguas de Níjar, entre la zona del Playazo y cala Bergantín, después de que se avistaran varias de estas rápidas lanchas y se iniciara una persecución durante la jornada del martes.

Según ha señalado la Comandancia, el sistema integral de vigilancia exterior (SIVE) detectó la embarcación alrededor de las 13:30 horas.
La localización e interceptación de la embarcación en la zona fue lograda por la Guardia Civil, que movilizó patrullas terrestres y una embarcación del Servicio Marítimo. Para ello, contó con el apoyo de un helicóptero de la Unidad Aérea de Granada y una patrullera de Frontex.

Los arrestos de los ocupantes de la 'go fast' se llevaron a cabo cuando estos abandonaron la embarcación en una zona escarpada y de difícil acceso, lo que requirió el apoyo del helicóptero de la Guardia Civil. Posteriormente, fueron trasladados al Playazo del Rodalquilar, donde una patrulla terrestre asumió su custodia.
