La provincia de Almería se convertirá en epicentro del jazz del 24 de octubre al 9 de noviembre con la celebración del 33º Festival Internacional Almerijazz. Esta edición, presentada por el Ayuntamiento de Almería, se destaca por una programación que integra figuras de prestigio mundial, artistas emergentes del panorama español y un apoyo significativo a la escena local, bajo un enfoque de cercanía e intimidad.

El concejal del Área de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Almería, Diego Cruz, lideró la presentación oficial, destacando que el festival, que lleva como lema "Al público que ve el jazz con el corazón", muestra una "personalidad y carácter muy especial con una programación diversa en estilos y rica en propuestas". Enfatizó que, en una apuesta por un formato cercano y directo, la mayoría de los conciertos se desarrollarán en el Teatro Apolo y el Centro Cultural Fundación Unicaja, limitando el uso del Auditorio a solo dos citas por requerimientos logísticos de grandes formaciones y coros.

Entre las actuaciones destacadas, la edición contará con dos figuras internacionales de renombre: el organista Delvon Lamarr, procedente de Seattle (Estados Unidos), que actuará el 1 de noviembre en el Apolo, y el pianista Jacky Terrasson, de origen americano y alemán, que ofrecerá su recital el 7 de noviembre en el mismo teatro. Además, se presentará un estreno absoluto: una producción de Tino di Geraldo para el Festival, que lo unirá a Caramelo de Cuba, Perico Sambeat y Peter Oteo en el Teatro Apolo el 8 de noviembre, en un proyecto único y colaborativo.
El festival también incluye un espacio dedicado íntegramente a la producción musical local y autonómica con la segunda edición de ‘La noche del jazz hecho en Andalucía’. Este año, la velada contará nuevamente con un programa doble protagonizado por formaciones de la provincia de Almería: La Causa Swing, que presentará su nuevo disco, y La Funkería, que estrenará su nuevo proyecto musical el 25 de octubre en el Teatro Apolo. Otra cita importante con el talento de la provincia será la que se vivirá el 2 de noviembre en el Auditorio, donde se recibirá al legendario saxofonista Bobby Watson, que actuará junto al talento de la Big Band Clasijazz, dirigida por Duccio Bertini, en una muestra de jazz de máxima calidad.

Además de las habituales localizaciones, la sede de la Fundación Unicaja en el Paseo de Almería acogerá la actuación de la pianista malagueña Lucía Rey el martes 4 de noviembre, en un recital a piano solo y con entrada libre hasta completar aforo.
