El concejal de Participación, Juventud y Educación del Ayuntamiento de El Ejido, Javier Rodríguez, ha detallado que “en esta edición hemos casi duplicado las actividades para esta Semana, pasando de 71 en 2024 a 121 en 2025. Este éxito no sería posible sin la colaboración de asociaciones, empresas, profesionales y organismos públicos que, junto al Ayuntamiento, son los verdaderos impulsores y sin cuya implicación difícilmente podríamos ofrecer un programa tan amplia y variada”.
“La Semana Saludable de El Ejido es una actividad consolidada entre la población ejidense y de toda la comarca que incluye charlas, actividades en farmacias, talleres, actividades deportivas, actividades educativas y de sensibilización, campañas y promociones y la Ruta Urbana Saludable”. Además, la alimentación vuelve a tener un papel fundamental donde “tendrán gran protagonismo nuestras frutas y hortalizas de gran calidad que son base de la saludable dieta mediterránea”. “Debe de ser para nosotros motivo de orgullo recordar que nuestra agricultura contribuye de forma evidente en el objetivo de conseguir una sociedad más sana”.

El programa ha comenzado con actividades educativas que se han desarrollado en el CEIP Bahía de Almerimar con la iniciativa ‘Coexplay’, a través de Coexphal y Copisi y la charla ‘Tus ojos frente a las pantallas: prevención, hábitos y salud mental’ por parte del oftalmólogo Juan Antonio Jiménez de la Clínica CIMA en el colegio SEK Alborán.
En cuanto a las acciones saludables, para este lunes hay previsto una Escuela de Espalda, talleres de ‘Cuerpo Desierto, Mente Viva’, de ‘Autocuidados’ y de ‘Aditivos y Disruptores Endocrinos’, además de sesión de Chi Kung y valoración gratuita para pacientes con daño neurológico.

Como novedad en esta edición, se une por primera vez a la Semana Saludable UNIPROSAL (Unión Profesional Sanitaria de Almería) realizando dos charlas sobre diabetes, una en el Club de la Tercera Edad San Isidro y otra con la Asociación Rosa Chacel.
La Ruta Urbana Saludable, que suma cada año un gran número de participantes, se realizará el viernes 24 de octubre y una vez más está destinada al colectivo de la Tercera Edad. “el objetivo es promover el envejecimiento activo”, ha explicado el edil.
