El parlamentario andaluz por el PSOE de Almería, José Luis Sánchez Teruel, ha denunciado que Juanma Moreno está discriminando a la sanidad pública de la provincia, ya que Almería cuenta con 1.609 profesionales menos que otras que tienen una población similar o menor en Andalucía. “Con más profesionales, no habría los problemas que hay para las citas en atención primaria, para el especialista, para pruebas diagnósticas o para una intervención quirúrgica”, ha afirmado.
El diputado autonómico ha recordado que Almería se ha situado este año como la quinta provincia andaluza en población, con 777.000 habitantes y más de 800.000 tarjetas individuales sanitarias (TIS). “Moreno Bonilla no puede dejarnos con menos personal sanitario que otras provincias con menos población”, ha advertido.

Según los datos de 2024 publicados por la Junta de Andalucía, Córdoba ha tenido 121 profesionales más en atención primaria y 1.488 más en asistencia hospitalaria que Almería, pese a tener menos TIS y una población similar. “Estamos hablando de una discriminación hacia los almerienses de 1.609 personas, de las que la mayoría son médicos y personal de enfermería”, ha asegurado.
En este sentido, ha señalado que con una plantilla dimensionada a la de otras provincias con los mismos habitantes “el Poniente dejaría de tener al 85% de sus médicos con cupos que superan los 1.500 usuarios”, podrían abrirse consultorios como el de Rodalquilar o restituir horarios en pequeñas poblaciones, mientras que el personal de UCI y de planta “no tendría que atender a más pacientes de los aconsejados”.

El parlamentario ha advertido de que el Gobierno de Moreno Bonilla “ha tratado peor a los almerienses que a otros andaluces en un tema tan sensible como la salud”. Según ha indicado, esa falta de personal ha provocado que en Almería se hayan hecho “menos pruebas diagnósticas, menos primeras citas con especialistas y menos intervenciones quirúrgicas de que las que se debían”.

Sánchez Teruel ha precisado que todos estos datos proceden de la información estadística publicada por la propia Consejería de Salud y ha recordado que, hace apenas un mes, el PSOE ya cuantificó “en más de 135 millones de euros anuales la discriminación presupuestaria que sufre Almería en materia sanitaria”.
“Hoy lo hacemos con los datos de personal y actividad: menos trabajadores, menos pruebas, menos citas y menos operaciones. Todo esto demuestra cómo Juanma Moreno discrimina a los almerienses”, ha afirmado.

El diputado autonómico ha reprochado al presidente andaluz que “haya suprimido seis quirófanos y cerca de 100 camas cuando cerró para siempre el Hospital de la Cruz Roja en 2020” y que “inaugure obras en Almería sin incorporar nuevo personal, limitándose a redistribuir el que ya estaba”. “Lo ha hecho en Piedras Redondas, en Mojácar y pretende hacerlo con las consultas externas de Torrecárdenas y con el segundo hospital del Poniente”, ha lamentado.

El parlamentario ha añadido que en la provincia de Almería hay mujeres que están acudiendo a las cuatro de la tarde al Hospital de Torrecárdenas con la misma carta enviada por la Junta, en la que se les comunica que tras meses de espera deben repetir la prueba por un resultado dudoso. “Muchas mujeres, en silencio, están sometiéndose a estas pruebas después de meses de retraso, mientras el delegado sigue negando esta realidad”, ha advertido.

Sánchez Teruel ha manifestado que “si el delegado tuviese dignidad y altura de miras, habría firmado ya su renuncia”, y ha acusado al responsable provincial de “tapar la falta de personal y de pruebas para salvarle la cara a Juanma Moreno”.
Según ha afirmado, “en Andalucía no puede pasar esto porque las pruebas deben hacerse con inmediatez, especialmente a las mujeres en las que puede existir una duda sobre si están desarrollando o no una enfermedad”. Lo que sucede, sin embargo, “es que se está haciendo mal, puesto que no se ha informado a tiempo ni se han repetido las pruebas a tiempo a quienes había que hacérselas”, ha subrayado el diputado autonómico.
