La Guardia Civil ha iniciado una investigación para determinar las circunstancias exactas de un atropello mortal ocurrido en la carretera A-1000, una vía intermunicipal que conecta Huércal de Almería y Viator. El suceso, que tuvo lugar durante la madrugada del martes, provocó la muerte de un joven de 20 años de edad, quien circulaba en patinete en el momento de ser embestido por un vehículo.

Según las informaciones recabadas, el trágico accidente se produjo alrededor de las 4:15 horas de la madrugada, concretamente a la altura del puente de Viator en el carril con dirección a la capital almeriense. Los agentes de la Guardia Civil de Tráfico están trabajando intensamente en la reconstrucción de la secuencia de los hechos. Se ha confirmado que el vehículo que presuntamente alcanzó al patinete ha sido identificado y permaneció en el lugar del siniestro. No obstante, las fuentes de la investigación no han especificado si el conductor fue sometido a las pruebas de detección de alcohol y drogas legalmente establecidas, ni si se produjo alguna detención en relación con el incidente.

Tras el atropello, se desplazaron al punto del accidente diversos servicios de emergencia, incluyendo efectivos de la Guardia Civil de Tráfico, el Centro de Emergencias Sanitarias 061, agentes de la Policía Local y personal de mantenimiento de la vía. El joven fue atendido y trasladado de urgencia al Hospital Universitario Torrecárdenas, ubicado en Almería. Pese a los esfuerzos sanitarios, el joven no pudo superar la gravedad de las heridas y falleció en el centro hospitalario pasadas las 13:00 horas, aproximadamente nueve horas después de producirse el impacto. La investigación continúa abierta para esclarecer todos los detalles del siniestro.
