La Sección Segunda de la Audiencia Provincial de Almería ha dictado una orden de embargo sobre las cantidades y bienes de Ana Julia Quezada, la mujer que cumple la pena de prisión permanente revisable por el asesinato del niño Gabriel Cruz, ocurrido en 2018. El objetivo es que la condenada comience a hacer frente a la indemnización total de $500.000$ euros fijada a favor de los padres del menor por el crimen.

Fuentes jurídicas han confirmado el decreto firmado el pasado 8 de octubre por el letrado de la Administración de Justicia. Dicho decreto establece el embargo del pecunio de la persona penada, el cual incluye el sueldo que percibe por sus trabajos en la prisión de Brieva (Ávila), donde cumple la condena, estimado en unos 200 euros, así como cualquier otra asignación o cantidad que pueda recibir por otras vías.
La sentencia judicial de septiembre de 2019 impuso a Quezada la obligación de abonar $250.000$ euros a cada uno de los progenitores de Gabriel Cruz en concepto de daños morales. Adicionalmente, la condena cifraba en $200.203$ euros la cantidad que debía abonar al Estado español para cubrir los gastos derivados de las labores de búsqueda realizadas durante las casi dos semanas que duró la desaparición del menor.
