Este miércoles, un grupo de antiguos alumnos y amigos de la Universidad de Almería (UAL) recibió un merecido reconocimiento por su papel como embajadores de la institución que les formó. Este evento, el VII Acto de Reconocimiento de Antiguos Alumnos y Amigos de Honor, destacó cómo estas personas han dejado una huella significativa en sus respectivas trayectorias profesionales y personales.

En total, fueron nueve los estudiantes homenajeados, uno representando a cada facultad, así como a la Escuela Superior de Ingeniería (ESI) y al Centro de Postgrado y Formación Continua. Cada uno de ellos expresó su agradecimiento hacia la UAL por las oportunidades que les brindó a lo largo de su formación académica.
Premios y reconocimientos
Además de los galardones individuales, se otorgaron distinciones a Samira Israfilova, presidenta de ASOAL, y a Cajamar, como entidades amigas de la universidad. Los premiados incluyeron a José María Oliva, quien fue reconocido por la Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación; José Miguel Garrido por la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud; Berta Lago por la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales; Juan José Amate por la Facultad de Ciencias Experimentales; Víctor Pérez por la Facultad de Derecho; Ana Dolores Navarro por la Facultad de Humanidades; Ángela Montoya por la Facultad de Psicología; Jesús Camacho por la Escuela Superior de Ingeniería; y Miguel Frasquet del Centro de Postgrado y Formación Continua.

El acto estuvo presidido por el rector José J. Céspedes, acompañado por Encarna Carmona, vicerrectora de Estudiantes, y María Dolores Hidalgo, presidenta del Consejo Social. La ceremonia contó con la participación activa de decanos y directores que entregaron los premios a los galardonados, quienes estuvieron arropados por familiares y amigos.
Un acto lleno de emociones
Céspedes destacó el carácter entrañable del evento, donde se evocaron buenos recuerdos y vivencias compartidas. Expresó su orgullo al ver cómo estos antiguos alumnos se han convertido en referentes en sus campos profesionales: “Son mujeres y hombres que se han formado en este campus”, afirmó. El rector también subrayó el valor transformador que tiene la universidad pública como motor para generar igualdad de oportunidades.

José María Oliva, graduado en Ciencias de la Actividad Física y del Deporte en 2018, ha llegado a ser Director de Investigación e Innovación en la Federación de Fútbol de Estados Unidos tras obtener su doctorado en 2022. José Miguel Garrido, Doctor en Salud, Psicología y Psiquiatría desde 2022, trabaja actualmente como enfermero en emergencias sanitarias después de más de treinta años dedicados al sector.
Berta Lago, graduada en Turismo en 2017, lidera actualmente el Departamento de Personas y Talento en Senator Hotels & Resorts. Por su parte, Juan José Amate, licenciado en Ciencias Ambientales en 1999, es director general en Medida SL y vicepresidente primero del Colegio Andaluz de Ambientólogos.

Víctor Pérez, Licenciado en Derecho desde 2009, dirige una asesoría familiar establecida desde 1980.
