El Ayuntamiento de Huércal de Almería destinará 120.000 euros a una primera fase de renovación y mejora del arbolado urbano. La actuación prevé sustituir los ejemplares que, según las evaluaciones técnicas, presenten daños o condiciones que justifiquen retirarlos, y plantar otros nuevos.

Los trabajos se desarrollarán en distintos puntos del municipio y tomarán como referencia el inventario municipal, concluido recientemente. Este registra más de 7.000 árboles en calles, plazas, parques, colegios, instalaciones municipales y otras zonas verdes.
Inventario de más de 7.000 árboles
El estudio identifica 146 especies y reúne información individualizada sobre las características, el estado fitosanitario y las condiciones estructurales de cada ejemplar. También incorpora un análisis de los posibles riesgos. El censo cifra en más de 7.000 los árboles del municipio, uno por cada 2,7 habitantes.
El alcalde, Ismael Torres, señaló que el inventario había ofrecido «una radiografía completa de nuestro arbolado urbano y nos ha permitido conocer las necesidades concretas de cada árbol para planificar las intervenciones con criterios técnicos y establecer prioridades».
Primera fase de un proyecto de reforestación
Esta etapa incluye las actuaciones necesarias para retirar los árboles cuando esté justificado, preparar los espacios y plantar nuevos ejemplares. También se acondicionarán los puntos de plantación para favorecer el desarrollo de los árboles.
