La Mesa Institucional de Cruceros de Almería, integrada por el Ayuntamiento de Almería, la Diputación Provincial Almería, la Delegación Territorial de Turismo de la Junta de Andalucía, la Autoridad Portuaria y la Fundación Bahía Almeriport, han desarrollado una intensa agenda de trabajo en Seatrade Cruise Med, la feria del sector de cruceros más importante del Mediterráneo, que se ha celebrado esta semana en Málaga. Durante tres días, la delegación almeriense ha mantenido encuentros con más de quince navieras y ha participado en presentaciones y conferencias. En todas las acciones, la Mesa de Cruceros ha dado a conocer a los agentes del sector los encantos de la provincia, recogidos en la campaña promocional ‘Almeria the Charm of the undiscovered’ (‘Almería, el encanto de lo desconocido’). El objetivo es cautivar a las navieras para que incluyan Almería en las rutas de los cruceros para turistas que buscan destinos distintos a los habituales.

En un primer balance de la feria, la Autoridad Portuaria de Almería y la Fundación Bahía Almeriport, han valorado la presencia de la Mesa de Cruceros en Seatrade Cruise Med y confían en que los resultados se puedan ver a corto y medio plazo, incrementando el número de escalas en los próximos años. En estos meses, en los que las navieras están ultimando sus rutas para las próximas temporadas, para 2023 ya hay previstas casi 25 escalas en la dársena almeriense, lo que supone un sensible incremento en comparación a este año y la vuelta definitiva a la normalidad, tras el paréntesis provocado por la pandemia.
