En relación al trasfondo de la denuncia de Ecologistas en Acción, admite que, durante la última tarea de verificación en 2019, "no se realizó un monitoreo radiológico de las áreas concretas" que, de acuerdo a Ecologistas en Acción, se encuentran "fuera" de la valla perimetral de seguridad", aunque destaca que sí pudo comprobarse que España "cuenta con las capacidades necesarias para evaluar la contaminación por plutonio en el medio ambiente".
