Los principales centros hospitalarios de la provincia de Almería respondieron de manera eficaz y sin que se produjeran incidencias reseñables durante el gran apagón eléctrico que afectó a buena parte del territorio a finales del pasado mes de abril. Así se desprende de un informe técnico del Servicio Andaluz de Salud (SAS) que se ha conocido ahora, en el que se analiza la actuación del Hospital Universitario de Poniente, el Hospital La Inmaculada de Huércal-Overa, el complejo del Hospital Universitario Torrecárdenas y el Centro de Transfusión, Tejidos y Células.

El documento, fechado el 16 de junio de 2025, confirma que, ante el fallo de suministro generalizado, todos los centros sanitarios siguieron los protocolos establecidos para este tipo de contingencias. La única dificultad técnica mencionada en el informe tuvo lugar en el Hospital de Poniente, donde uno de sus grupos electrógenos sufrió una avería. La situación se solventó con celeridad, ya que mientras el personal técnico trabajaba en su reparación, se contó con el soporte de la compañía Endesa, que proporcionó otro equipo electrógeno para dar suministro a las áreas que se habían visto afectadas. Esta incidencia provocó una interrupción de dos horas y media en zonas de hospitalización, consultas, urgencias y hemodiálisis, pero fue resuelta sin mayores consecuencias.
