Conversaba hace unos días con un dirigente socialista de nuestra provincia, quien, con el entusiasmo del converso, pretendía convencerme de las bondades de la quita de la deuda autonómica. Y sí, he dicho del converso, porque su lideresa María Jesús Montero, sostuvo hasta no hace mucho, que era inviable.... hasta que... pues eso. No se nos escapa que esta iniciativa, impulsada desde el gobierno central, responde más a las exigencias del nacionalismo catalán para sostener a Pedro Sánchez en la Moncloa que a un repentino ataque de solidaridad interterritorial. El argumento de mi interlocutor era simple y, en apariencia, contundente: Andalucía, al ser una de las comunidades con mayor deuda en términos absolutos, se vería enormemente beneficiada, casi tanto como la propia Cataluña.

Tuve que contradecirle. Lo que se nos presenta como un perdón es, en realidad, una mutualización de la deuda. Las deudas, como la energía en la termodinámica, no se destruyen, simplemente se transforman. O, en este caso, se transfieren de un bolsillo a otro. Y el diablo, como siempre, está en los detalles, en la letra pequeña que convierte un supuesto regalo en una carga compartida.
Si dejamos de hablar de miles de millones, una cifra tan abstracta que pierde su significado, y lo llevamos a lo que nos toca a cada uno, el panorama cambia radicalmente. La realidad, según los datos de 2025, es que la deuda per cápita de un andaluz es de 4.674 euros, una de las más contenidas del Estado. Comparemos esa cifra con la mochila que carga un ciudadano de la Comunidad Valenciana (11.150 €) o un catalán (11.047 €). La diferencia es abismal. Entonces, ¿qué ocurrirá cuando se aplique esta supuesta condonación? Sencillo: la deuda per cápita de cada andaluz aumentará, porque pasaremos a asumir una parte de la que generaron otros, mientras que la de un catalán, por arte de magia contable, disminuirá. Se socializan las deudas que otros contrajeron.

Imaginemos a ese padre de familia, ese pater familias a la romana. Sobre sus hombros recae el sostenimiento del hogar: la hipoteca de la casa familiar, la letra del coche, el combustible, los libros del colegio, las facturas de luz y teléfono, las suscripciones a Netflix y Prime Video, la compra de ropa, la "paga" a los menores, la remodelación de la cocina, el menaje, e incluso las vacaciones de verano. Pero el efecto es aún más perverso. Si antes dividíamos el gasto total de la familia entre todos sus miembros, obteníamos un coste por persona.
